Here we go again! Another month, and this month marks my bujo journey anniversary. My very first bullet journal monthly set up was September 2018. That month I did a pattern, and so I kept with that tradition, September bujo themes will always be a pattern, and this month I went with this aztec pattern in an orangey-red colour. I actually started my first page with doing the background coloured in black, but I didn’t like it, so I redid it and went with a non coloured background. That’s the beauty of using this style of planner.

As you can see I went with using the left side of my planner for the cover page, and I included a quote with the title. I like this setup, I’m not leaving empty pages and I get to see this page often now, because my calendar is on the right. The quote I chose is – “It does not require many words to speak the truth.” This was one of the first quotes I found when I searched for ‘aztec quote’. It was perfect because I want to work on keeping empowered about what I share to others, and what I hold for myself. So quietness became my theme for the month.

Here you can see both sides of the first double spread. The cover page on the left then on the right I have my calendar, I have to turn it when I’m using it, but I am ok with that. I realised that I don’t need much space for my monthly calendar, I only write in specific events, and then we plan a date night, and a few things like that. So this actually fits my needs perfectly. Sometimes when I try a new idea for a monthly spread, I quickly get a vibe of either…oooh I like this, or…ugh this was a mistake. Well, with this layout I get really happy… I’m going to do this again… vibes. 😬

Here is my second double spread for the month. If you are a regular reader of my posts you will know that I recently did a post about the power of reflections. Well, here is my daily reflections page. On the left side, I am using a habit tracker style layout but using it to rate each thing out of 10. I am interested to see if I notice any patterns of good and bad days in these areas, like sleep. If I know that certain days are a weakness in certain areas, it will help me to know what I can do to improve, if that makes sense.

On the right side of the page is my line per day reflections page. So, I will write observations, things that I am proud of, notes of things I might want to alter…basically notes of my progress on life’s journey. It’s not just a line about the day, because I still fill in my 5 year diary for that. So, this is more about personal development, rather than just saying what happened in the day.

This is my last double spread for the month. I have gone with quite a basic setup for this month. On the left side of the page is my page for monthly memories, highlight and successes. I usually fill this in at the end of the month, but it’s a pretty open page, so I might get inspired to write some things in there as I go along. Well see on that one.

On the right side of the page is my focus word page. I write a quote, verse, truth, or personal experience connected to my focus word everyday. Some over on my Instagram have already been helping me out with quote ideas, which I greatly appreciate. So, I think this is going to be a great month. I love the definition here..who doesn’t want a bit of calm in this crazy world. So hopefully, I will have a lovely serene energy by the time the month is out.

That’s it for this month’s spreads. I have created a section at the back of my planner that is separated into different sections, like work, home etc. I am putting my goals, projects and tasks into those sections and so in my monthly spreads I am focusing more on my personal growth and focus. It’s different for me and I’ll see how it goes, but two days in and I’m happy. 😁

I wish you a good month, a calm, quiet month. I hope your planner helps you out and inspires you. Until the next post … stay safe, happy planning 👋
